I just had a very inspiring and motivating talk with my friend via Facetime Video Chat (thankful for technology, always). It invigorated me and woke the fire up inside of me. So, I just needed to come here and take a moment to say how important it is to keep in touch and catch up with your friends. I mean, seriously. I feel so grateful to have so many genuine people in my life and to have met so many through this Peace Corps journey.
Often times I think of my journey as a solo one. I tell myself “You have to be okay being on your own.” In a way, that’s true. But also, you have to know that it’s okay to reach out when you’re feeling lonely/sad/confused or even just happy/excited to be alive. Just reach out! Call your friends. Send them an email. Let them know you’re thinking about them.
These first 7 months in Thailand have been an adjustment but I’m realizing I need to make more of an effort to talk to my friends back home. How are you guys doing? What’s new with life? Can we seriously set up some video chat sessions? Please?!!?!?! I’m 12 hours in the future so maybe during some weekend? Your Saturday morning/my Saturday night? Or your Saturday night/my Sunday morning? I need to know about your life! I miss your energy in mine. That’s for sure.
I hope it goes without saying but even though we don’t talk as much as we did while I was home, I think about every single one of you all the time and always am wishing you all well. That being said, let’s chat!!! I know life gets busy, but it’s time. Even just to say hello 🙂 This goes for my mom, too. REMEMBER ME, MOM??? (hehe just kidding).
On another note, I’m really excited to start this project my friend and I were just talking about. Teachers! Peace Corps Teachers, Teacher Friends back home, even any random teachers stumbling upon this blog.. I’m gunna be looking at you soon for some collaboration help 🙂 just a little teaser. I’m super excited about it. Together we achieve 😉 (that’s our Peace Corps training theme.. it fits so perfectly in this case).
Anyways, I’m just rambling at this point because I’m in a good mood after my chat with my friend. Let’s catch up!!
LOVE YOU ALL!
