So Many Lesson Plans, So Little Thaime

Hello my friends! It’s been a while.

Last week I started Practicum, which involves teaching English to 5th and 6th Graders.. and boy has it been an experience! The first day started off not as expected, with my 6th Grade class leaving to go on a Field Trip. So instead of teaching them I observed another class and then taught 2nd period for 5th Grade. We had a lot of fun and learned some new food vocabulary and had a race!

I finally got to teach my 6th Grade class on Wednesday and we did Introductions/Names. They are all such wonderful artists! So much creativity in my classroom. I loved watching them each personalize their name tags and had a lot of fun getting to know them. The students make all the hard work worth it.

Most of the time I have no idea what day it is, so much has gone on the past week and a half! It’s been stressful, to say the least. But also very rewarding. Some days when I’m stressed all I need is a sunset bike ride to realize how lucky I am to be here. It’s definitely not easy, far from it actually. But I’m up for the challenge. I know I can do this and I can already see myself growing as a person from the experiences I’ve had this past month.

Can you believe it’s been a month! I’ve lived in Thailand for a month. Wow. It still hasn’t fully set in yet. I’m not sure when it will. I’m trying this whole “Live in the Moment” thing. Trying. Always trying. But aren’t we all? One day at a time, that’s all we can do as human beings. It’s so much easier to think about today.. try not to worry about what may or may not be.

“If your problem has a solution then, why worry about it? If you problem doesn’t have a solution then, why worry about it?” One of my favorite proverbs.

Hard to always remember, but again, we’re all a work in progress anyways. To sum everything up: My life has been hectic, slightly stressful, hard, but it has also been a lot of fun, very exciting and so much more. An adventure of a lifetime, if you will 😉 I’m looking forward to see how the next two years unfold.

I’ll leave you with a few more photos:
